Searching For Identity’s Production Team approaches storytelling through the lens of their film documentarian and journalism experiences. Our inspiring films document important issues, educate and encourage greater understanding. We motivate viewers to learn more, take action and recognize their role in ensuring the stories in our films are remembered.
In Traces, Voices of the Second Generation we hear directly from children of Holocaust survivors, known as the Second Gen. They tell their parents’ remarkable survival stories and explore what it was like to grow up with parents who survived history’s darkest of evils.
The Legacy
Joseph A. Strasser, PhD
Strasser is a Holocaust survivor,
American immigrant and philanthropist.
Leaving his parents behind, Joseph A. Strasser fled Nazi Germany with his younger brother, escaping due to the determination of a courageous American couple. In the United States, through hard-scrabble perseverance and constant work, Joseph A. Strasser was the definition of the American Immigrant Dream. He became a successful businessman and ultimately, a very special philanthropist who lived by the philosophy, “that we may leave this world for the better, because our actions are based on responsible good will.”
