Lead Writing Workshops on Preserving Holocaust Survivor Stories
Writing Workshop Facilitator Training
Become a writing workshop facilitator and help Holocaust descendants document their families’ stories.
SFI Workshops Encourage Writing & Self-Reflection
Join our mission, help preserve history and encourage children and grandchildren to document their families’ incredible survivor stories.
Facilitating writing workshops provide a guided approach to self-exploration and storytelling for the 2G and 3Gs who have taken the brave step to document their parents’/grandparents’ Holocaust survivor stories.
Our facilitator training offers a safe space for the 2nd and 3rd Generations to write, discuss and capture their families’ survivor stories and the Holocaust intergenerational impact.
This video provides some quick tips about facilitating.
The Agenda Will Guide You
Sometimes people who attend our workshops say they are different from other 2nd Generation (2G) and Third Generation (3G) groups.
They are right.
The key is following the agenda. It encourages writing and opens the door to memories, discussion and support.
Take a look at the agenda video. It’s an overview. If you are interested in the next steps to become a facilitator, read on!
The Prompts Open Doors
Nothing is worse than staring a blank page when you want to write. 2nd and 3rd Gen have important stories to tell and need help to get their memories on paper.
The prompts make that happen.
In this video, I share a sampling from the SFI Prompt Catalog that has served the workshop experience for over a decade.
Each prompt is designed to capture stories, open the door to memories and self revelations about what it means to be a children or grandchild of Holocaust survivors.
Take a listen.
